Chen(Andrew) Xu
12 years ago, I began my career as a part-time cashier at Burger King in Xi'an, just as the brand was entering the Xi'an market. My deep understanding of Burger King's products and social media operations quickly led me to a role as a part-time brand specialist. Leveraging my skills in Photoshop and Illustrator, I soon transitioned into a graphic designer position with the company right after graduation. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for both design and marketing, which inspired me to pursue a degree in graphic design in the U.S. to refine my design abilities.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where I gained a well-rounded education in packaging, UI, website design, and motion graphics. My dedication and creativity were recognized through awards such as the Adobe Design Achievement Awards-Top Talent and the Academy of Art University Award for Design Excellence.
In 2019, I secured my first design job in the U.S. at Ricepo, where I collaborated with senior designers on a major visual overhaul for the brand. and designed the Ricepo online Asian supermarket during the pandemic. My work contributed to Ricepo's iOS app reaching 2 million downloads.
In 2020, I joined a startup HiLink Education as the founding designer, building the company's visual identity from the ground up, including websites, educational platforms, and investment pitch materials. A year later, I was fortunate to join Alibaba.com, where over the past three years, I have worked with cross-functional teams to produce a wide range of visual content, while also integrating AI into design workflows to push creative boundaries.
Seasoned and innovative, I now have over five years of experience in both B2B and B2C e-commerce sectors, specializing in print and digital media, branding, packaging, UI/UX design, and social media. My goal has always been to craft delightful and meaningful user experiences by blending design, technology, and business insight. I thrive in both collaborative and independent environments, using my skills to solve real customer needs.
