Background
This packaging series includes four local specialty products from Baoji, Shaanxi Province:
Xi’an Cold Noodle / Roujiamo (Chinese Pulled Pork Sandwich)
The client, with a deep sense of cultural pride, is eager to introduce the rich traditions of the region to a broader audience. After extensive research and careful consideration, we selected "Fengxiang Clay Sculptures" — a unique, festive, and vibrant local craft — as a key design element for the packaging. This choice brings an authentic and dynamic touch to the entire project, making it stand out.
Hand-Pulled Noodles Series:
Targeting a younger demographic through online sales channels, we crafted playful, aspirational slogans to resonate with key groups: couples, white-collar professionals, and students. The slogans are as follows:
"Savor these noodles today, become the boss tomorrow."(Yellow Bag)
"One bite of these noodles, and love will follow."(Magenta Bag)
"Fuel up with these noodles, ace every exam."(Green bag)
This targeted messaging aligns perfectly with the interests of each consumer group.
Roujiamo Series:
Continuing with the clay sculpture theme, we used a "colorful pig" as the central figure, symbolizing the pork filling of the sandwich.
I combined the familiar checkered tablecloth pattern with real product photography, complemented by a hand-drawn font that evokes a sense of warmth and nostalgia. The overall design reflects the cozy memories of home or outdoor picnics with loved ones, evoking feelings of simplicity, sincerity, warmth, and care.
